The Date Range Picker by Filament Group is probably the best date range picker available today. It gives you a wide range of flexibility to choose your own range of dates as well as particular ranges that are commonly used (Like last 7 days, Last 30 days, etc).

jQuery Date Picker Series — Date Picker by Eyecon
The first plugin in the series is a date picker created by Eyecon. It requires very little to implement and gives you quite a bit of power.
You can choose either a single date or a range of dates by simply clicking on the start date and then clicking on the end date. This functionality is similar to how the calendar works in Google Analytics.
